Romance Songs in Row, Let's Dive In to JVKE Debut Album: This Is What .... Feels Like!

Going viral through Tiktok, Jvke has made a name by achieving a series of outstanding achievements in music in less than two years.

Jake Lawson, more known as JVKE is one of the American singers who is getting the most buzz lately. Jvke got his first foot in the real music world after a short 15-second video of him singing with his mom went viral on Tiktok. This 22-year-old singer and song producer quickly realized her golden opportunity and began to make a mark.

After a clip of his song Upside Down went viral on Tiktok in 2020, Jvke took a bold step to take music seriously. He dropped out of college to focus on making music. He then released the full version of his single Upside Down, which featured in over 12 million Tiktok clips. This song later became his debut single that was included in his first album; This Is What .... Feels Like.

In an interview with Zach Sang Show, Jvke shared how the album This Is What .... Feels Like was created.

"Basically, it's sectioned out into the first three songs are all about falling in love. The first one, 'this is what falling in love feels like,' then two songs to really flesh that out. Then the next section 'this is what heartbreak feels like,' two songs to really dive in. Then we got two more pieces... 'this is what sadness feels like' and then those two songs and then 'this is what falling out of love feels like' and then the two songs after that."

It could be said that Tiktok played a big role in successfully promoting this first album. Unmitigated, the songs in this album successfully manages great achievements in the music world within 2 years.

The album This Is What .... Feels Like contains 4 sections of songs in a row with romance themes. The record tells the story of a romantic relationship and the aftermath following its collapse. Golden Hour, This is What Falling in Love Feels like, Upside Down and This is What Heartbreak Feels Like has been some of Jvke's most listened-to songs lately.

Since its initial release in September 2022, the songs in this album have reached New Zealand's top 40 and #19 on Billboard's Hot Dance/Electronic Songs. In addition, the album also garnered a Grammy nomination for Best Progressive R&B Album.
