Between bipolar and an Album, this is how DPR IAN manages his Ups and Downs through creativity and the story behind them in his albums.

DPR IAN or Christian Yu successfully released his second album MIITO: Moodswings In To Order, in 2022. The album, which is a follow-up series to his debut album; MITO, serves his audience with storytelling in 12 song titles. Uniquely, each song in this album seems to tell the stages of a continuous story, from Seraph up to Sometimes I'm. The songs in this album are created based on his imagination of the visualization of the ups and downs stages he has gone through.

Through his interview on Zach Sang Show; DPR IAN Talks Moodswings In To Order, His Time in the Kpop Industry & Living with Bipolar Disorder, this Australian-born and raised musician shared how his songs were made as a form of therapy for his Bipolar disorder.

"one of the coping mechanism that they (the terapist) offered me was to channel that to creativity. and I've been hear it all the time that creativity and bipolar or depression they come hand in hand."

His music holds an important key that influences his persona. In the same interview Ian, as he is often called, shared the story of the struggles he faced when he first discovered that there was something else inside him. When he was in Junior High School, he was first diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder.

"I've been living with a lot of highs and lows, but every time I'm in that state I change completely."

DPR Ian's first album, MITO: Moodswings In This Order, has also proven its success. How his wild imagination and cleverness poured all his stress and depression into a magical work. In this second album, Ian seems to convey his perception of music and how he deals with his ups and downs through music. He also conveys a message where he has 'accepted' and made a peace with the other side of himself through the visualization of each music video in this album.

"A lot of my songs inspirations come from either my highs point or my darkest point, but I feel like it wouldn't have been right for my to come out as just me. because honestly, it is not me doing whatever it is. so I wanted to give that character power, persona, and more so tell my story through that character."

Through his works, Ian and other DPR members seem intent on conveying their new definition of music. In this MIITO album, they use a lot of majestic visualizations filled with unordinary symbols. In particular, DPR's IAN really proves to the general public his ability in the art world as well as being an enchanting editor, animator, choreographer, and storyteller.
